Sydney Gateway Project

  • Client/s: John Holland and Seymour Whyte

Project Details:

  • The NSW Government is delivering the $2.6B Sydney Gateway,  a new high-capacity toll-free road that will expand and improve the road network in and around Sydney Airport and Port Botany.

  • The development of this project will strengthen Sydney’s position as a global city by expanding and improving the existing road networks through improved traffic flow, reduced travel times, eased congestion and returning local streets to the community.

  • We were contracted to erect a 32m pedestrian access scaffold which bridges over 18m of water. Using our smarts and engineering capability we offered a prefabricated crane able solution utilising Layher’s Frame Work System. This eliminated working at heights and working over water. Our scaffolders on site erected the scaffold on land and craned it into place over night.

Highlights:

  • The scaffold was placed safely, efficiently and under budget.
  • No injuries
  • The client was really impressed with our approach, and we have now secured future works on the project and for other contractors on site.
